. colored pencils, crayons and/or highlighters (no permanent markers).
Directions for Math Portion:
1. Write your name, period, and date lightly in the center of the back of the line design paper.
2. Use a ruler and pencil to connect each pair of equivalent numbers (one fraction to one decimal or one decimal to one fraction) with a STRAIGHT LINE SEGMENT from mark to mark (I to I).
3. Show your long division for those equivalent pairs that you do not know from memory. Place this paper with your name, period, date written in the top, right corner in the black box for your progress folder.
Directions for Art Portion:
Observe the results of your math work. Create a design or picture based on a theme. You may give your work a title if you like. Add color unless you plan to go black and white with shading. The inner portion of the four sides of the design must be in color or shading. If you wish, you may continue to draw and/or color outside the design as long as the numbers are still readable.
Contest Winners:
1. Completed work and long division paper must be in the black box at the beginning of class on Monday, September 29.
2. Prizes will be given to contest winners based on MATH ACCURACY, ARTISTIC QUALITY, and CREATIVITY. Good luck!
